The Team
EHE LEAD
Marianne Whitlock
Hi, my name is Marianne and I am the EHE Lead.

I hope to be able to bring my extensive experience working with children, young people and families who are outside of the mainstream education system to my role at BELS.

After completing my PGCE, I worked in Home and Hospital Tuition for a local authority and then moved into Elective Home Education. I also took time out to study for a Masters degree before returning to education.

Before entering local government, I worked as a Copywriter for Deutsche Bank, Fidelity Investments, SEB e-banken, and the Prudential.

As a parent of two daughters, both of whom have been home educated for periods of time, I fully understand the benefits that home education can bring to children and young people’s lives. I also understand all of the hard work and commitment that parents and carers bring to home education to ensure that their children get the very best education and do well in life. I look forward to working with home educating parents and carers in the London Borough of Barnet and meeting you.
EWT MANAGER
Lauren Jefferson
I am the manager of the Elective Home Education Team at BELS, I have newly taken over and I am keen to make this team dynamic and forward thinking to promote and enjoy the wonderful work that is being carried out by home educating families.

Marianne our EHE Advisory Teacher, will be your main point of contact for any specific questions relating to your education programme and is here to offer guidance should you request it.

I am excited to be part of the EHE Team for Barnet and look forward to hearing about all the fantastic work.

I am looking forward to working with those actively involved in home education and supporting EHE families in the process to make it a rewarding and positive experience.
Working alongside Marianne , the Advisory Teacher, I will be the first point of contact and I will do my utmost to contribute to the Barnet EHE community in a meaningful way.
